made their way into the supply chain of the

USMC P1941 Combat Suspenders
) in the
Pacific island campaigns.
Despite
the introduction of several different design-modifications of
Combat Suspenders
during the war, these
M1936 Combat Suspenders
were worn throughout the war until its bitter conclusion in 1945.

The HINSON MANUFACTURING COMPANY of Waterloo, Iowa
Since its incorporation in 1923.
Hinson
produced a line of textile and leather goods, e.g. luggage, handbags, and sporting goods.
The
Hinson Mfg. Co
. was founded by Tennessean, Clyde Sheldon Hinson. Around 1925 that Clyde Hinson moved to Waterloo, Iowa where he started his manufacturing business that, at some point, employed over 300 people.

uring WW2 the Hinson Mfg. Co. was awarded contracts for the manufacture of Mountain Rucksacks, collapsible Canvas Water Buckets, M1943 Shovel Covers, luggage such as the b-4 VAL-PAK, and M1923 Cartridge Belts.
Hinson Manufacturing
products ranged from basic hunting gear to rubber crafts and even seat belts for the automobile industry. The company under the direction of its founder's son, William Hinson, was sold in 1968 and continued in operation until 1973.
