    Description

You are bidding on a VERY NICE example of a WW2 US Army Air Force
    Type A-1B Navigators Observing Dome!
This was used specifically in bombers such as the B-17, B-24, B-25, B-29, and others!
Usually located forward of the cockpit, in front of the windshield (though sometimes rear of the cockpit), this was used to take navigational readings from the Sextant and Astrocompass.  This was to aid in navigation and course plotting.  In an emergency, it could be used as an exit.
Made of plexiglass and aluminum, this is an EXCELLENT example.
Though there are some scratches and wear from age, it features NO major damage or corrosion!  Some of the rubber sealant has shrunk slightly, but that could easily be repaired/replaced.  Manufacture labels are all still present.
A bit of dust and dirt from storage, but that can easily be rectified by the winning bidder.  I have shown its location in the last photos.  Would make an EXCELLENT addition to any collection, display, or simply as a conversation piece!
