    Description

Here is a charming vintage mid century Brownie Downing 4 inch display plate of "Tinka", an aboriginal child, carrying a boomerang. This sweet little plate has a light pink background, and is in great condition and wired for hanging. I have another plate listed of Tinka dragging a goanna lizard, and would be happy to combine shipping if you were to buy both. Maybe the child used the boomerang to kill the goanna. This was most likely bought on a trip to Australia, as I have a silver plated napkin ring (?) with a kangaroo and emu or ostrich listed. The owner may have gone on a cruise, as I also have some South African railway souvenirs as well.
    PROVENANCE:
I have recently had the opportunity to acquire a number of wonderful items from an old Pittsburgh PA Estate. The woman had been a very stylish business professional, and a world traveler. She bought many interesting and quality items during her life; and some things passed down through her family. The family emigrated to the United States from London U.K. After The Blitz; and she was in her 80's when she passed this year. From clothing and accessories, to china, porcelain, glass and silver as well as art prints, books and other items. I will be listing what I was able to acquire as time allows. Please check back for other great items!
Please view the photos as they are part of the description; and feel free to ask any questions before purchasing. I am always happy to combine shipping on multiple purchases when able. Simply message me if you are purchasing more than one item, and wait for an invoice.
Thank you for viewing my item, and have a very nice day!
