    Description

    Here is a very rare California spade bit made by Juan Echavarria for F.M. Stern of San Jose, CA and marked as such. This bit is in excellent shape and complete. It has a 5" wide mouth, a 6 1/2" shank, and a 4" tall spade. It is clearly marked as you can see in the photos. It comes with original rein and slobber chains. This is the bit featured in the book, "Bit and Spur Makers In The Vaquero Tradition" by Ned Martin. This is an oldie, but goodie. Buyer pays shipping.
