    Liverpool Bit
    MOUTH SLIDES UP and DOWN
    I HAVE seen bits like this before but most of them have not been in this good of condition.  This does have some slight surface rust but not bad.  It is a real elegant design and is a bit of a sliding mouth bit. I would say it would have been made in the late 1800's to early 1900's by perhaps Buermann as I think I have seen this style in their catalog
    I have not removed any of the surface rust or dust etc.
    The mouth is 5 1/2" wide
    The total length is 9"
    The sides are 3.5" across
    The Shanks have SLOTS and the Mouth is RIBBED on one side.
    For around 30 years we have been collecting antique bits and spurs and through the years and these good old bits and spurs are getting very hard to find.
